A permit is required to conduct a live outdoor fireworks display.
The party wanting such permit shall make application to the Permits and License Manager for an operational permit at least 15 days prior to the date on which the public display shall begin.
Permit applications can be applied for and submitted electronically online by viewing the outdoor fireworks permit application.
Permit applications may also be received from and submitted to the Permits and License Manager at the Community Development Building.
Regardless of how one submits, the application shall include the permit fee, proof of a bond or certificate of insurance in amount of at least $1,000,000, a diagram of the site at which the display will be held.

Display must be in accordance with MN Statute 624.22, Minnesota State Fire Code (MSFC) Section 5608, and NFPA 1123.
Plan review turn around time is approximately 7 to 10 days.
