Notice of 24-hour Construction Shifts on the Levee Park Dockage and Vogel Harbor Improvement Projects

(March 12, 2019, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing would like to notify the public that beginning March 12, 2019, through March 26, 2019, Meyer Contracting will be working 24-hour shifts on the Levee Park Dockage and Vogel Harbor Improvement Projects. A majority of the work will involve setting sheet pile at wall 2 (the intersection of Broad Street and Ikata Drive) and wall 3 (the east end of Levee Park), the installation of sheet pile wall anchorage systems, and stormwater tunnel work.

The 24-hour work shifts are planned for Monday through Friday but depending on progress, weekend work may be added as well. The 24-hour work shifts are planned due to the impending high water levels forecasted for the Mississippi River due to snowmelt and springtime rains.

The Riverfront Trail (between Levee Park and Vogel Harbor), Levee Park, and the Levee Park parking lot remain closed during construction activities, and barricades are in place.

We appreciate the cooperation and patience of neighbors, drivers, and pedestrians during this time of inconvenience. Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and drive carefully through all work zones and riverfront pedestrians are asked to avoid the construction work areas during the project for the foreseeable future. Thank you in advance for your patience!
