Training Opportunity for Boards and Commissions Members


The City of Red Wing would like to notify Boards and Commissions members of an upcoming training opportunity that will occur on Thursday, April 18 at the Sheldon Theatre at 6 p.m.  The public is also welcome to attend.

University of MN Law School and Hamline University Political Science Professor David Schultz will be presenting to Boards and Commissions volunteers, stall liaisons, and any City staff that work with the City’s Boards and Commissions.  Topics he will discuss include the role of staff versus the volunteer/elected official, open meeting laws, and conflicts of interest as relates to state law.

Email invitations will be sent to each Commission member and attendance is strongly encouraged.  Professor Schultz is the author of numerous books and publications, and his biographies from his respective universities are available at the websites of the University of MN and Hamline University.
