Welcome to the Engineering Department!  We welcome you into our building, but require facial masks be worn at all times.  Masks are free and available at the entrance.  Thank you for your cooperation as we do what we can to protect our staff to ensure that critical services, such as emergency response, water, and sewer, continue uninterrupted.

Responsibilities

We provide infrastructure management and support services for the city, such as:

  • Plat and plan review for all types of city infrastructure and right-of-way
  • Long-term and short-term infrastructure project planning
  • Surveying and staking
  • Design of city infrastructure
  • Construction oversight and administration on city infrastructure projects
  • Utility permitting
  • Management of city right-of-way
  • Addressing
  • Management of the Municipal State Aid System (MSAS) through the Minnesota Department of Transportation’ State Aid Department
  • Maintain the city bridge inventory and safety inspections
  • Maintain and implement the ADA Transition Plan
  • Maintain and implement the City’s Transportation Plan and/or Comprehensive Plan

  • City streets (including pavement surfaces, curb/gutter, and parking)
  • Alleys
  • Sidewalks
  • Trails
  • Watermain
  • Sanitary sewer
  • Storm sewer
